This may have been a complete shock or an unwelcome relief after being very unwell recently. Have you had T1 for quite a while but feel unsupported? Hospitals are stretched to the limit and T1 education can be limited. Dr Google can be helpful sometimes but often causes more anxiety and confusion.
Are you feeling you are stuck with feeling out of control, constantly worrying about your blood sugar and long term control? Fed up of doing your best and getting great results one day and the opposite result the next day after doing the same thing? I truly understand how frustrating it is as I have T1 for over 50 years. Even with 4 years of nutritional therapy study and years of research I don’t have a magic bullet to improve blood sugar but I have the tips and tricks to make day to day life a lot less stressful, while getting good blood sugar results a higher percentage of the time.

I have designed this programme for you. I understand how confusing and frustrating it can be to try to improve your diet and get no improvements or even to get the motivation to try. I get it. This programme is designed with you in mind. All I ask of you is that you come with an open mind and a willingness to try it for a realistic time, say 6 – 12 weeks.
You will need to be able to adjust your insulin. If not, you need to speak to your diabetes team before embarking on dietary or exercise changes. You should see an improvement in your day to day blood sugar reading if you are adjusting your insulin as prescribed by your Doctor or Nurse. It is very flexible, there is no diet you have to follow or anything boring like that! If you follow it for 3 months you should see an improvement in your Hba1. If you have a recent test result that is your starting point.
For some a couple of weeks may be all they can commit to before they realise that it is doable and quite enjoyable and continue with the programme. Or are you saying ‘I’ve invested in this and more importantly in myself, I’m in for the long term because I know I can do it with this support. I want to enjoy good health and look forward to the future’.
